There’s a chance we could see “Stone Cold” Steve Austin step back into the ring, as he’s reportedly open to the idea of another match.
According to a report from Fightful Select, multiple sources stated that Austin mentioned he “might have one more in him” during WrestleMania 41 weekend this past April. Several people who spoke with the WWE Hall of Famer said he seemed receptive to a return — if the circumstances were right.
Austin previously noted that TKO hadn’t reached out to him since taking over WWE, though he did appear at WrestleMania 41. Over the years, various talents have expressed interest in working with him, with CM Punk frequently brought up in internal conversations.
Austin initially retired after his match against The Rock at WrestleMania XIX. He wouldn’t wrestle again until 19 years later, when he defeated Kevin Owens in a surprise match at WrestleMania 38. He was reportedly pitched a match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but that bout ultimately didn’t come together.
