Nikki Garcia and Artem Chigvintsev’s marriage has reportedly been on the rocks for years now.
As we reported on Thursday here on eWn, Chigvintsev was arrested for felony domestic violence after he was involved in a fight with his wife.
According to a report from TMZ, the relationship has been “volatile” for many years now. This wasn’t a secret to anyone in their orbit. One source said of Artem’s arrest, “Shocking but not shocking.”
As noted earlier today, radio dispatch audio reveals that Artem called 911 after Nikki threw a pair of shoes at him. A child witnessed the incident. While Artem originally requested medical assistance, he later called back and said they were no longer needed.
While people close to the couple have said there have been many past verbal altercations between the two, no one had heard of any physical fights taking place before Thursday’s incident.
The source of the verbal (and possibly unknown previous physical) incidents stems from issues involving “control” and “belittlement.”
Back in 2021, Nikki revealed that she and Artem went to couples therapy because of how he spoke to her.
Finally, it was added that Artem is not currently living in the Napa Valley house. Nikki is currently watching their 4-year-old son Mateo.
