LA Knight will never forget his Mountain Dew Pitch Black match with Bray Wyatt, which proved to be Wyatt’s last aired match before his death.

On a recent edition of the “Casual Conversations with the Classics” podcast, Knight reflected on working with the late wrestler. He said,

“He was just a good ass dude. I mean just coming in straight from the start, kind of allowing me the freedom to just kind of do what I needed to do to be me, while he’s doing what he needed to do to be him.

“I don’t know if he wanted me to talk about puppets and whatever else and spooky whatever, but I’m in there just saying whatever comes to mind.”

The pair’s match was met with criticism due to the sponsorship endorsement and the glowing neon effects attached to the ‘Pitch Black’ stipulation.

On the podcast, Knight shared his own issues with the match and said while the presentation was cool, the execution was “ehh.”

Wyatt and Knight competed a handful of times at WWE live events after that before Wyatt’s final match came in February 2023.
