JBL would have loved the chance to get back in the ring with John Cena on the latter’s farewell tour, but that match will not be happening.

Earlier this month, Cena kicked off his farewell tour and declared himself for this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble, a match he’s won twice before.

On a recent edition of the “Something to Wrestle” podcast, JBL was asked if he’d like to wrestle his former nemesis one more time. He said,

“Of course. Yeah, because I think the world of John… It’s not going to happen, by the way. There’s absolutely zero talk of it.”

JBL added that despite being the person Cena won his first WWE Championship from, he doesn’t take any credit for Cena’s success.

In addition to the Royal Rumble, Cena has been confirmed for the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event on March 1, as well as WrestleMania 41.
