Fantasy Book A Third Elimination Chamber Match For This Year | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

Elimination Chamber is coming up this Saturday and it is set to feature two of the titular cage matches to determine the No. 1 contenders to the Undisputed WWE Championship and the Women’s World Championship.

There are only four matches on the card for what is set to be a whopping 6 hour event, meaning if you were to trim down all the extraneous b.s. like the commercials, repetitive video packages, and other filler, along with the two-hour pre-show, there is plenty time to include at least another whole Elimination Chamber match in addition to this lineup.

Obviously, that is not going to happen, but what if it did?

My question for you today is “If you were given the keys to WWE Creative and were tasked to add another Elimination Chamber match to this weekend’s card, what would you choose to do?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

With only one episode of SmackDown to do anything and announce it, the options are pretty limited to make any grand sweeping storylines intricately weave and create an amazing story. At this point, you’re looking at just throwing a match onto the card that will deliver in the ring and look good on a marquee while being easy to justify.

I see a few potential options on the table, depending on where WWE plans to go for WrestleMania. Naturally, without knowing that information, it’s impossible to know what to avoid.

For example, if WWE plans on doing a multi-team match for the WWE Tag Team Championship at Mania, then one of my ideas of doing that for this would be rendered a no-go. But assuming that isn’t the case, I think putting a belt on the line instead of doing any kind of No. 1 contender’s thing is the right decision, and with so many tag teams on SmackDown competing for those titles, the groups have already done the heavy lifting.

#DIY defends against The Street Profits, Motor City Machine Guns, Pretty Deadly, Los Garza, and since we need a sixth team and I doubt it would be Solo Sikoa/Jacob Fatu/Tama Tonga, give that spot to Melo Don’t Miz or The Wyatt Sicks.

Another alternative option would be a match for the United States Championship. In similar fashion, if WWE wants to do a multi-man match at WrestleMania, then of course, skip that, too.

Shinsuke Nakamura would defend against LA Knight, Andrade, Santos Escobar, Braun Strowman, and Jimmy Uso. If I were told I could book anything for WrestleMania as well, I’d either book Nakamura to lose at WrestleMania to Damian Priest, or I’d take the belt off Nakamura in this chamber match, put it on Knight, and have him defend at Mania against Drew McIntyre.
