Vince Russo Believes The Rock Being Rejected Is The Reason Why

On the latest episode of the ‘Coach and Bro‘ podcast, Jonathan Coachman and Vince Russo discussed this silence from The Rock. Russo linked it to his creative pitches being turned down for two WrestleManias in a row.

“Coach, when you look at it, the last two WrestleManias, I guess you could say the Rock has been overruled.”

“WrestleMania two years ago, he wanted to go Rock and Cody and we all know what happened there.”

“And then we learned from Cena, we learned from Cody, this year he wanted Cody to turn heel, and it was voted against.”

“If I am The Rock and you call me in for my advice and my expertise, I put it all on the line, I give it to you, and you’re going to go the other way, and it’s really not going to turn out that good two years in a row.”

“Honestly, Coach, if I’m Rock, I don’t know if I am putting that company over, either.”

The Rock has always claimed to have creative control over WWE storylines through his character, The Final Boss. In the documentary for WrestleMania 40, he claimed his idea was to pivot the storyline following the fan backlash.

Despite the silence, many fans still believe The Rock could show up in the heel Cena storyline. This could happen when Cena loses his Unisputed WWE Championship.
