Dr. Carlon Colker Files Motion To Dismiss Janel Grant’s Petition For Medical Records

Vince McMahon relinquished his role as CEO and Chairman of WWE in 2022 following reports of hush-money allegations.

Although McMahon remained involved in and influenced the creative process, he departed the company in September after the WWE-UFC merger, when he assumed the role of Executive Chairman of TKO.

Last month, McMahon filed a motion after Grant filed a discovery petition for records against Dr. Carlon Colker and his Peak Wellness, Inc. clinic, alleging that she was sent there at McMahon’s direction in November of 2019. She claimed to have received treatments that were not disclosed to her, including being given pills and I.V. infusions. McMahon’s motion to enforce the court-ordered stay in Grant’s lawsuit against him was denied last week.

Dr. Colker recently responded to Grant’s complaint by denying her allegations and calling them part of a “smear campaign.” He claimed these allegations have significantly damaged his reputation, estimating the harm to be worth “tens of millions of dollars.” Dr. Colker requested access to documentation that he believes will refute Grant’s claims and also seeks to depose her.

In retaliation, Grant filed a motion in the Connecticut Superior Court to strike Dr. Colker’s complaint and dismiss his bill of discovery. McMahon’s attorney, Jessica Rosenberg, later stated that Grant originally filed a baseless lawsuit to damage his reputation.

Although Grant agreed to pause the case at the government’s request, she allegedly harassed McMahon and his associates by initiating another unfounded legal action against Dr. Colker and discussing it with the media.

Brandon Thurston is reporting that Dr. Colker’s lawyers have filed a motion to reject Grant’s petition to acquire evidence, such as medical records, connected to her federal legal action against McMahon and WWE. The legal action is presently halted due to a federal inquiry.

Colker’s legal team asserts that Grant’s motion is not a genuine request for discovery, but rather an effort to circumvent the suspension of her federal case. They argue that the motion, submitted in Connecticut state court, should be thrown out because Grant is not actively pursuing a lawsuit against Colker in state court. They believe Grant is contemplating adding Colker as a defendant in her federal case against McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis or initiating a new federal lawsuit.

Moreover, Colker’s lawyers contend that the motion is legally flawed due to technical deficiencies.
