Chavo Guerrero is sad to see CM Punk part ways with AEW, but realizes that the former World Champion was far from perfect.

Punk has been suspended since the AEW All Out backstage fight and it is believed that his contract will be bought out by the promotion.

Speaking to Wrestling Inc, Guerrero spoke about Punk and how his run in Tony Khan’s company has panned.

“Unfortunately, man, I was really excited to have Punk back in wrestling with AEW. I think he has something to give, a lot. And for that to happen … he’s an outspoken guy, a very volatile guy, and sometimes wears his heart on his sleeve too much in a sense.”

While The Elite are returning to competition at tonight’s AEW Full Gear event, there is no sign that AEW has any plans to use Punk again.

Punk has been removed from the cover art for AEW’s first console video game, AEW Fight Forever.

In 2008, Guerrero and Punk feuded in WWE over the ECW Championship, before Chavo lost the title to Kane at WrestleMania 24.
