Booker T has fired back at Bully Ray’s belief that WWE NXT Women’s Champion, and protégé of Booker, Roxanne Perez may not be ready for the main roster.

On a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Ray discussed The Prodigy, who he believes may need more time. He said,

“As far as Roxanne Perez moving on [to the main roster], I don’t know … Unless there is a definitive plan, it can be disastrous… Do I think she’s ready? I don’t think it’s going to hurt her to hang out in ‘NXT’ for a little bit longer. I would rather see her sit there, continue to get comfortable in the ring, to improve in her psychology, her promos, her character.”

On a recent edition of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, Booker T responded to what his fellow WWE Hall of Famer had to say. He said,

“I like Bubba Ray, but he don’t know what the hell he’s talking about. Roxanne Perez is definitely one of the best in the WWE right now; she is just that good, and she came through my wrestling school. I don’t see none of Bubba Ray’s students out there doing nothing, I’m just saying.” 

Perez is in her second reign as WWE NXT Women’s Champion after capturing the title from Lyra Valkyria at NXT Stand & Deliver earlier this year.

The Prodigy’s next title defense will come at NXT No Mercy next month and see Perez defend against OTM’s Jaida Parker.
