AEW Scrapped Plans For Jon Moxley Due To All Out Controversy

AEW was forced to change their plans for Jon Moxley following the multiple suspensions after All Out 2022.

Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks were among those suspended for their participation in a fight, following explosive comments made by CM Punk.

Punk and his trainer Ace Steel have not had their status with AEW confirmed but neither was mentioned on this week’s AEW Dynamite.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Moxley had to change plans to be in the ongoing AEW World Championship tournament.

“Moxley had an entire storyline that had nothing to do with the championship or anything like that. He was gonna be off. He even mentioned on TV that he was going on a vacation.

“The storyline had to be thrown out, because him and Jericho, who was also not booked on the show this week, they were both called and told ‘the show that we had and the stars that we had — we had 4 main stars who are not on the show this week and we need you back.’”

Moxley will face either Sammy Guevara or Darby Allin in the semi-finals of the AEW World Championship tournament on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite from Albany, New York.
