AEW Grand Slam Mexico Dynamite Predictions? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

For the third week in a row, AEW Dynamite is a special edition, with tonight’s being Grand Slam: Mexico, so let’s treat it as such and give out our predictions before the show kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on TBS and HBO Max.

My question for you today is “Who do you think will win at AEW Grand Slam: Mexico?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

I’m 50/50 on Mercedes Mone beating Zeuxis. I could very well see another company putting their title on her to ensure that she works another one of their shows. I’m sure Mercedes would want to work a CMLL program, too. The more titles she has going into her match with Toni Storm, the more likely she’s going to win that title, too. But there has been so much interaction between her and Storm that I feel like this is going to be a standard distraction affair, with Zeuxis capitalizing on Storm interfering. The bigger story here is likely just pushing that All In match, rather than strictly giving more gold to Mone.

The 12-man tag and the 10-man tag are basically coin flips. Both sides could win both of those matches and it wouldn’t shock me. But I could see more thought being given to showcasing the luchadors and going with the babyfaces in the 12-man tag, maybe with Atlantis Jr. getting the win for the team on Hechicero or Josh Alexander. Maybe Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay can’t quite fully get along and they cost the babyfaces the 10-man tag, as Death Riders and Young Bucks coming out on top wouldn’t shock me. Then again, this could just as easily be vehicles for Ospreay and Strickland to work well together and lean into a tag match with The Young Bucks, or for The Don Callis Family and FTR to get one over on the random mishmash of babyfaces.

I’m going with Kazuchika Okada over Mark Briscoe, easily. Okada isn’t losing on his way to fighting Kenny Omega.

MJF could lose to Mistico, or MJF could cheat, but I think it’s okay for Mistico to get one over on MJF.

Lastly, I think Lio Rush is taking the pin in the 4 Million Pesos High-Flying 4-Way, probably from Mascara Dorada, if MJF beats Mistico. If MJF doesn’t beat Mistico, then I think Ricochet’s collecting heat here by pinning Hologram.

What do you think? Drop your thoughts below!
