This year’s AEW Continental Classic will have an updated format, specifically regarding the semifinals and their scheduling.

Previously, the top two participants from each league (Blue and Gold) would face off against the same-positioned competitor from the opposite league (e.g., Blue #1 vs. Blue #2, Gold #1 vs. Gold #2). This year, the semifinal matchups will feature:

Blue #1 vs. Gold #2
Gold #1 vs. Blue #2

This change opens the possibility for an all-Blue or all-Gold final if both competitors from one league win their semifinals, or a Blue vs. Gold final if one from each league progresses.

Additionally, both semifinal matches and the final will take place during the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view event, which means the two finalists will wrestle twice in one night.

The rest of the format remains the same with the two leagues (Blue and Gold) each consisting of six competitors, who will compete in a round-robin style tournament. Wins earn 3 points, and time-limit draws give both competitors 1 point.
