As seen on Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, a new Women’s United States Championship was introduced.

According to a report from Fightful Select, the women’s roster did know about the announcement until the day of the show.

As of this writing, there’s no word on whether a matching title will be announced for Monday Night RAW, or if there are plans for a tournament to crown the first champion.

Finally, it was added that the details surrounding the championship are being kept quiet. Some talents believe the new title might debut in December or January with WWE Survivor Series just weeks away.
