There have reportedly been some discussions in AEW about having MJF make his return to TV in the near future. The former AEW World Champion hasn’t been seen since losing to Samoa Joe at the AEW Dynasty 2023 pay-per-view event, which took place on December 30th.

Fightful Select is reporting that while there is currently no word on a particular date for MJF’s return, it may happen sooner rather than later. Some in the company expect him to be back in time for the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view event, possibly sooner. The talks that have been ongoing revolve around how the return will look, potential alterations in presentation, and more.

MJF still has a lot of time left on his current AEW contract, and reportedly signed an extension following AEW Double or Nothing 2023. It is said that several higher-ups in the company know that he is securely under contract.

Finally, it was added that there is no word on his physical health at this time. The reason he was written off television after AEW Dynasty was due to several injuries.
