The latest episode of WWE RAW (Aug. 24, 2026) featured Bron Breakker and Oba Femi in a contract signing segment. They are set to collide in a singles match at Sunday Night Main Event. During the segment, Breaker and Femi exchanged heated words before it turned into a physical altercation.
Speaking on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Bully Ray addressed what he felt about Femi and Breakker’s segment on RAW. The WWE Hall of Famer said,
“I’m looking at a confident man in Oba Femi and maybe not so confident in Bron Breakker, despite knowing that he’s a bad mother trucker. His body language told me that he was defeated before the promo even started. The confidence in which Oba spoke with, the way he sat in that chair. He put over Bron and said, ‘Yeah, you know what? You and Cena, you would have been the guy. You and Roman, you would have been a guy. You and me, you ain’t the guy. I’m the guy. I’m ‘The Ruler.’ So many different aspects of that segment told me that Oba Femi was the one to come out on top.”
Ex-WWE Star Comments On Whether Femi Should Turn Heel
Recently, former WWE star Jinder Mahal (Raj Dhesi) revealed that the company should turn Oba Femi heel. This led to many in the industry discussing the possible character change of The Ruler.
In an episode of “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy” podcast, Hardy claimed that he’s against the idea of Femi’s heel turn. The former WWE Superstar said,
“It is extremely interesting, because you have two guys who want to ascend up the ladder. So, it’s going to be interesting to see what direction they go with that. Hopefully, they drag this out, and they make it into a… I would like to see this be a really good, intense story where they do a little bit of back-and-forth.”
“I think he’s too over [to turn heel]. I think people like him. Especially with his character, he’s this monster. To point out the obvious, being black and being so popular, I think it’s very good to have a character like that be a big babyface and represent your company. I would leave him as a babyface right now.”
