Former WWE star Zelina Vega made a rare public appearance alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson this week, attending the premiere of Disney’s live-action Moana with a very special guest — her niece.
Vega’s second run with WWE came to an end on April 24, 2026, concluding a four-year stint with the company. Her release followed a series of post-WrestleMania 42 roster cuts that also included her husband, Aleister Black.
Reports at the time indicated that TKO President Ari Emanuel favored Pat McAfee for a major role in the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes storyline, despite WWE creative reportedly planning for Black to become involved in the program. McAfee ultimately stepped away from in-ring competition after receiving heavy criticism for his involvement in the WrestleMania main event.
With Black’s previous tenure in AEW ending on difficult terms, some fans have questioned what the future holds for the couple in professional wrestling. However, Vega has already begun exploring opportunities outside the ring, revealing just one month after leaving WWE that she had secured a role in an upcoming film.
That Hollywood connection was on full display at the premiere of Disney’s live-action Moana, where The Rock — who reprises his role as Maui and serves as a producer — welcomed a number of guests from the wrestling world.
Vega later shared photos from the red carpet on Twitter, where she was joined by a young girl. Some fans mistakenly assumed the child was her daughter, but Vega and Aleister Black do not have children. Instead, she was enjoying a special aunt-and-niece outing as the pair attended the star-studded event together and reunited with The Rock.
Alongside the photos, Vega wrote,
“Thank you for a magical night @disney #Moana.”
As for The Rock, the last major WWE appearance by “The Final Boss” came during John Cena’s farewell tour, where he played a pivotal role in setting the stage for Cena’s shocking heel turn.
