WWE’s Booking Of Chelsea Green Slammed

At WWE SummerSlam 2026, Chelsea Green won her first Women’s Championship. This was in a ladder match against some of the top stars in the company. Despite the odds being stacked against her, she prevailed and is the new Women’s Champion. However, Vince Russo was not happy with how WWE booked Green over the past few months. 

Following her win at SummerSlam, Vince Russo went to Twitter to ask why she wasn’t pushed before. He said,

“How many freakin’ VPs are on the @WWE Creative Team? Bro, I never even had one title the entire time I was at @WWE!!!”

“Whereas I applaud the @WWE for admitting their mistake and giving @ImChelseaGreen her just desserts, you have to remember they took the US Title off of Chelsea prematurely and put it on @ZelinaVegaWWE only to then release Zelina. Bro—that was a bad decision, a decision that set Chelsea back—FOR NO REASON. That decision did not help the trajectory of Chelsea’s rise ONE IOTA.

“And, for the record, they’ve done this on SEVERAL OCCASSIONS with the development of various wrestlers. These are the mistakes that @WWE Creative can not afford to make over and over again. Again, just MO.”

He also talked about WWE Unreal and CM Punk’s loss of his furry friend, Larry. Russo said, 

“God, the “Larry Story” is breaking my heart on @WWE “Unreal”. This show has made me look at @CMPunk in a much different light. Why? Because I didn’t know him. Now I feel like I do. WHO these wrestlers are need to come across on RAW/SD.”
