It was reported in early July that WWE stopped using Ariya Daivari and Curtis Axel as producers. According to Fightful, the company has made several adjustments regarding its producer roles, including taking some off the road for a week or more.
The report noted that the company has been doubling up on producer assignments. One producer is now assigned to multiple segments on the same show. Additionally, segments that have once been produced by two people have been stripped back to having just one now. The report suggests that the changes were due to the release of Daivari and Axel. Senior producer of WWE, Jason Jordan, has reportedly been more directly involved in producing individual segments.
Producers being taken off the road for one or more weeks at a time was a way to limit travel costs. Now that there’s new management, it will be interesting to see whether these changes to producer roles will remain in effect by the end of the year.
