The latest Rey Mysterio autograph signing incident at an airport in Los Angeles, CA (LAX) has caused WWE and its wrestlers to become frustrated with certain groups of fans that harass talents at airports and hotels for signatures.

Oftentimes, the fans ambush wrestlers to obtain their autographs, sometimes waiting for hours at airports or hotels. Some fans ask wrestlers to sign multiple items, which later get resold online. WWE officials and talents alike are upset with this behavior, with some wrestlers being advised against signing each and every item that is presented to them.

While several wrestlers said they turn down signing items, they do stop for selfies when asked politely. Things have reportedly been worse since the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, now that the world has returned to normalcy. A WWE talent stated, You can tell who’s a family with kids who happen to cross paths with us and who’s stalking the place with 100 items to sign and flip to the next person for a profit.

For what it’s worth, Rhea Ripley expressed her frustrations earlier today regarding this exact thing, writing:

“People need to respect that no means no! At airports do not follow me outside. Today has put me off completely! I will not sign ANYTHING that isn’t a personal photo of us anymore. Hate me, I don’t care. Disagree with me, try putting yourselves in our shoes for one bloody day.”
