The originally planned dark-match after this week’s edition of SmackDown had to be changed during the show due to Big E’s neck injury.
During the broadcast, the former WWE Champion suffered a broken neck after taking a belly-to-belly suplex outside the ring.
Fightful Select reports that Big E was meant to be in the post-SmackDown dark main event where the New Day would’ve faced Sheamus, Ridge Holland and Butch.
This match was scrapped during SmackDown and the post-show main event saw Drew McIntyre face Austin Theory.
McIntyre got the pinfall victory after a Claymore kick on Theory.
