WWE Accused Of Losing Interest In ‘Toy’ TNA Wrestling

Has WWE moved on from TNA Wrestling in a manner akin to a child losing interest in a new toy shortly after buying it? Stevie Richards believes so. 

On a recent edition of his “Stevie Richards Show”, Richard discussed the multi-year WWE-TNA deal which he feels has fizzled out. He said,

“We talked about it early, and we were guessing that WWE was either going to buy TNA for the roster, for the spot, or especially for the tape library.

“There’s something with wrestling promotions to work with WWE. Weaponized hope. Are you not going to take the opportunity? Are you not going to try? At least I know historically everybody has tried. They usually had—at least TNA’s still around.”

Rather than taking a vested interest in TNA, Richards believes that WWE has gotten what it wanted, taking talent like Joe Hendry, Jordynne Grace, and Cruz Montana. He said, 

“They just get tired of playing with the new toy…We got our three people, which, by the way, Joe Hendry did really well against Randy Orton at WrestleMania, but nothing came out of it. Now, you just plug him into the occasional musical skit.”

Richards has experience with WWE and TNA Wrestling. He was with WWE from 1999 to 2008 and worked with TNA Wrestling from 2009 to 2011.
