Will Cody Rhodes Be on Raw Tonight? & Monday Morning Q&A

Welcome back to another Monday Morning Q&A where I toss out some questions to get a feel of how you guys and gals are feeling about certain topics.

So here are 5 questions I’d like to toss out for this week. I’ll give my answers, too, but the key here is that I want to know what YOU think! So make sure you chime in!

1) Let’s try this again. Does Cody Rhodes pop up on Monday Night Raw, or not?

This time around, I do think he’s going to show up. Even more reports have been passed around that indicate he’s signed with the company, which makes it a little more believable. Naturally, even that could be bullshit, so it’s still a case of “I’ll believe it when I see it” more than anything else, but it’s more trustworthy now than ever before.

I’m anticipating Seth Rollins will cut a promo about how he’s officially lost all his opportunities and has nothing else left to get him to WrestleMania. Then, Cody will show up and save him from being off the card, so to speak.

However, if he doesn’t show up, I’ll end up asking this question again next week and heading into WrestleMania, and the post-Mania episode of Raw, too. It’s just too big of a story.

2) What do you think is going to happen with Ricochet for WrestleMania?

No contenders have been established to potentially face him for the Intercontinental Championship. With Big E’s absence, and how it seemed clear the game plan was Sheamus, Butch and Ridge Holland against The New Day, I’m thinking Ricochet is going to sub in for Big E for a six-man tag that will be on the kickoff.

I could see WWE spinning off from this to have Sheamus get a title shot either on WrestleMania SmackDown or following WrestleMania, too. That’s a title that The Celtic Warrior hasn’t won yet and has expressed much interest in capturing, so he should win it down the line, whether from Ricochet or someone else.

3) SmackDown had a backstage segment involving cars two weeks in a row. Whether it was writer’s block, lack of creativity or a decided effort as WWE thought that would drum up specific interest, which one of the two did you prefer? Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey, or Brock Lesnar with the forklift?

To be honest, neither of them did much for me. I’ve seen WWE do plenty of the similar angle in better ways. Even the last time Rousey was doing a fight inside a car backstage, it was more enthusiastic and memorable. The editing of Lesnar’s segment made it so glaringly obvious every time he did something to the car that nobody was inside that it took me out of it.

But, if I have to pick, I’m going with the Lesnar one. At least in that scenario, something happened that couldn’t have happened in the ring. All Rousey and Flair did was fight. That could have taken place right between the ropes and it would have been the same segment. With the Roman Reigns situation, at least we got Lesnar carrying a truck door to the ring as a visual.

4) Do you think Tommaso Ciampa will leave WWE or go to the main roster after Stand & Deliver?

Main roster. He’s been wrestling too much on regular television for it to point in the direction of just leaving the company altogether. Granted, Johnny Gargano was a major focal point of War Games before not signing a new contract, but I think this is a different story.

In my mind, this reads more like Ciampa knows he can’t stay in NXT with the 2.0 youth movement, but he doesn’t want to leave WWE. They’ve tested him out on Raw long enough that they’re probably cool with him making the transition, and he might have realized he can do it, too. Stand & Deliver will be a swan song for his NXT career, but he’ll pop up on Raw the next episode and be there until at least the next draft in the fall.

5) We can’t forget about AEW. After Thunder Rosa’s victory for the AEW Women’s World Championship and Scorpio Sky retaining the TNT Championship, which one of those two do you think will drop their title first?

My brain tells me Sky is the weaker champion and should lose the title first, even if I don’t have a strong gut feeling one way or the other.

While it’s true that Thunder Rosa’s biggest part of her journey was winning the championship, rather than how she’ll be defending it, I just can’t picture she’ll be losing it any time soon just to go back to another heel. There aren’t any strong ones in contention that stand out to me, whereas with Sky, I could picture him losing it at Double or Nothing against a number of people.

Swerve is the one I’d watch out for the most as the potential next champion. Keith Lee’s an option, though. There’s always Wardlow, Orange Cassidy, Jeff Hardy and some others who could fit that bill, too.
