Who Are You Hoping Wins The Owen Hart Cup This Year? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

If you haven’t already seen it announced on AEW Dynamite, the brackets for the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament have been revealed.

I actually have two questions when it comes to this year’s tournament, so we’re getting a double edition QOTD!

My questions for you today are “Who do you think the men’s wild card will be, and who are you rooting for to win both brackets?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

Since it’s “Hangman” Adam Page who is facing the wild card, my gut immediately ran straight to Jeff Jarrett. We haven’t seen him in a while, he’s associated with both Owen Hart and Page in various ways, and this could be the means to bring him back. However, the more I thought about it, the more I didn’t like that answer, particularly because Page would have to either beat him or lose to him, and neither quite felt purposeful.

Because of that, I’m starting to lean more toward Josh Alexander. We know he’s been waiting in the wings, and I could very well see him beating Page, but losing to Kyle Fletcher.

Ultimately, I think Will Ospreay wins the men’s tournament by beating Fletcher, Page, or the wild card. Mark Briscoe just doesn’t stand a chance, and Ospreay was the guy who kicked this all off and would put on the biggest show against Jon Moxley at All In: Texas.

With regards to the women’s tournament, I’m fully expecting Mercedes Mone to go the distance, carry another title around, and have a title-for-title match against Toni Storm at All In. Now, that’s not to say I want that to happen, as I’m just not as thrilled about giving everything to Mercedes over and over again, but when I look at the rest of the lineup, nobody stands out to me as a more interesting outcome, either. At least when it comes to having the TBS champion win it, that’s got a hook to it. If it’s just someone like Kris Statlander, she’s great, but she’ll just lose to Storm and that’ll be it.
