Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

We just talked about this the other day when Duke Hudson, Cedric Alexander, Paul Ellering, Akam, Rezar, Blair Davenport, and Sonya Deville were released, but WWE wasn’t done. Since then, The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows), Giovanni Vinci, Isla Dawn, and Elektra Lopez were also let go, as well as employees in sections like the editing department and such.

My question for you today is a repeat of the other day with this new batch: “Where would you like to see them go next? Which company/companies do you want them to sign with?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

This may sound harsh, but this is another crop of talent that does have something to offer, but had grown stagnant in WWE, and I’m not surprised to see them in this group of releases. Frankly, I’m still surprised a few others aren’t on the chopping block that are in the same boat, but we’ll cross that bridge if and when we get to it for those.

When it comes to this group, I think the one with the highest profile is Isla Dawn. AEW should snatch her up in a second and pair her up with Julia Hart or form another tag team in some capacity. She’s not going to save the women’s division singlehandedly, but she’s as solid of a hand as you can get, has a marketable look for sure, and has more personality with her witchy vibes gimmick than most of the rest of the roster. Otherwise, she’d fit in well in TNA, but there’s no telling if she’d rather work the indies or something.

For that matter, obviously, anything these people want to do is their own choosing. It’s important for me to say these opinions of mine are just my perspective as a fan, since I don’t know them personally, nor do I know the business side of any of those relationships, so keep that in mind.

Elektra Lopez got better over the years, but not at enough of a rate. Realistically, she was an okay manager and a below average performer in the ring who arguably could have been justified as a release several years ago. As part of Legado del Fantasma, she wasn’t even the necessary mouthpiece as Santos Escobar carried that role, too. She tended to be extra eye candy, similar to B-Fab teaming with The Street Profits and Scarlett with Final Testament. All in all, I get why they saw that as a redundancy that could be eliminated, even if that sucks for Lopez, who didn’t get much of a chance to do anything on the main roster. Then again, did she deserve more chances? I don’t know. But I honestly don’t see her showing up in any company going forward. I could more so see her moving into another career or doing more modeling or something. I don’t get the vibe that wrestling is her passion, but maybe I’m wrong, especially since she’s second generation.

Giovanni Vinci isn’t likely to be a huge star anywhere, but he’s got a good look and he’s solid in the ring. Put him in ROH. Let him find himself in NWA. I could see him touring the indies for a while.

Gallows and Anderson are interesting. Anderson is injured right now and they’re really a tag team act, so they go wherever they can go together. I don’t think they have enough value this late in their careers to go back to AEW, where their run was a dud. They’ll probably ask too much for TNA to justify. Maybe New Japan would welcome them back? They could also be fixtures of GCW and such.

Again, to repeat what I said the other day, it sucks to see anyone lose their jobs. Hopefully, they all bounce back even better than before.
