What Was Chris Jericho’s Best Debut/Return? | Question Of The Day

Welcome to another eWrestlingNews Question of the Day!

When looking at this day in wrestling history, apparently it was August 9th when Chris Jericho made his first appearance on WWE television with his Monday Night Raw debut.

That original tease leading up to his unveiling went down as one of the most iconic debuts ever. But is it even Chris Jericho’s best, considering all the big debuts and returns he would have following that?

My question for you today is “What is your favorite debut or return from Chris Jericho’s career?”

Remember to answer with your response in the comments below.

As far as my answer…

I don’t think I was watching wrestling when Jericho debuted in WWE. By that point, I think I was already taking my break that would last from some point in 1999 until some point in 2006. Of course, I’ve seen it in retrospect, but it doesn’t have the same impact.

Instead, my go-to thought for this is Jericho’s return on November 19, 2007 as part of the Save_Us.Y2J marketing.

This was one of the first big returns when I started watching again, and I had always been a big fan of Jericho’s from his time in WCW. He was one of the few guys that I was always hoping would go to WWF (as I was more of a WWF guy than a WCW fan, when push came to shove)

The code teases were awesome. I was trying to solve it along with many others, so that was a fun thing to tune in and find clues about every week. And the song? C’mon. “Interfear” immediately became my cell phone ringtone as soon as I could find that production theme, and it has been ever since. A whopping 17 years of using that same song no matter what phone I had. Wow, I feel old.

Jericho’s light-up jacket return never sat as well with me, or any of his others from WWE. His AEW debut was a major moment, but since it came with the start of the company, that wasn’t as much of a standalone thing in my mind.

If I think of Jericho returning or making a debut, or any kind of grand entrance, for that matter, his 2007 return opposite Randy Orton is the one that I think of first, and then, his original Raw debut.
