WWE has released a new video featuring United States Champion Trick Williams training with former WWE Champion Big E. as he prepares for this weekend’s 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
During the workout session, Williams spoke with Big E. about his journey to WWE and explained why his background in college football helped prepare him for the spotlight.
Williams also reflected on his time working as a trainer for Orangetheory Fitness after an unsuccessful WWE tryout. He revealed that he would use the opportunity to practice his wrestling promos before eventually earning his way into WWE.
You can check out some highlights below:
On never feeling overwhelmed by the spotlight: “Nah, man, because honestly, you know, bringing it all the way back to, like we said, football, man, I waited so long, you know, for the spotlight to be on me. Know what I mean? I waited so long for the opportunities. I worked hard, I trained, and I believed that I could be something great. And now that we here, it’s my season. So now it’s like, I can’t sleep. I can’t take no days off. I can’t say, ‘Oh my gosh, it’s so much work.’ Like, bro, this is what it was all about.”
On how he’d try out his wrestling material as a trainer at Orangetheory Fitness before being signed to WWE: “I was substitute teaching, coaching high school football, and I was a fitness coach at Orangetheory Fitness. Matter of fact, after I got my first tryout, I didn’t get signed right away, but I was working at Orangetheory Fitness, and they gave us these microphones to, like, talk to the whole class. So I put on my microphone, and I would try out my material that I wanted to say in promos and different things like that. And I would say, ‘Reporting to you live, the sexiest, most entertaining trainer alive. Sweet Daddy Trick has finally arrived.’ And that’s what we used to do. And matter of fact, I used to host a whole class on Saturdays. I used to coach all the classes on Saturday. And we’d call it Sweet Daddy Saturday. And I would come in and I’d have my shades on, and it was a Sweet Daddy Saturday class. And it was booked, filled up every day. Best music, you know, energy flowing, people just ready to come have a good time.”
On his mindset for Money in the Bank: “If you talking about the biggest stages of them all, we talking about a match that includes, one, like you said, crazy physicality, and two, ladders and height, you gotta’ be a tough dude to come out here and be the winner. But you know, when it talks about Money in the Bank, when we’re talking about somebody who looks like money, walks like money, talks like money, dresses like money, diamond out, G shots, chains in the gym, no shirt on, there’s only one person who carries the Money in the Bank persona, and that’s Trick Williams. I’m Mr. Money in the Bank. It’s Tricking in the Bank. You feel me?”
On how he’s training With Lash Legend to overcome his fear of heights: “Yeah, man. I mean, a little something about Trick Willie, I don’t do the heights too much. So to overcome my fear, you know what I mean, with Lash being in the match herself, I’ve gone to Home Depot every single day, and I bring home a ladder, and we practice just climbing to the top of the ladder and coming down. We go up to the attic, then we come back down. We go to the roof, and we come back down every single day. Oh. You know what I mean? I got her changing stuff, chandeliers, everything, man. Just climbing, getting used to getting up there. (Big E laughing) You know what I mean? And then walking way back down, say, ‘Hey, that wasn’t fast enough. We gotta’ do it faster. We gotta’ beat that time.’ So yeah, man, I’ve been climbing a lot of ladders.”
Robert Stone isn’t sure how to handle Wren Sinclair after the NXT star resorted to underhanded tactics to secure a shot at the NXT Women’s Championship.
As we previously reported here on eWn, Sinclair won the battle royal that main evented this week’s episode of WWE NXT despite being suspended. Sinclair found a way around the suspension by disguising herself as AAA star Lady Shani, allowing her to enter the match and ultimately earn a title opportunity against Kelani Jordan at NXT: Halloween Havoc.
Speaking on a recent edition of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, the NXT General Manager addressed Sinclair’s actions and admitted that he wasn’t happy with how things unfolded. Stone also revealed that he has yet to decide how he plans to handle the situation following Sinclair’s victory.
You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:
On his reaction to Sinclair’s tactics: “I don’t right now at the moment know where it goes from here. So all my years of wrestling over 26 years in the industry, eight years in TNA, I’ve been through all the black and gold NXT, the 2.0 NXT, all the different versions of NXT. I’ve seen a lot of crazy things inside and outside of the ring, but nothing quite like someone stealing someone’s outfit, sneaking into a building, and winning a match like this.”
On Dean Malenko having done something similar at WCW Slamboree 1998: “Wren clearly was doing her homework, so props to her for that. But as you can hear the tone in my voice, I don’t want to give her credit for anything because she’s put me in this tough situation.”
On if Sinclair gets her title shot: “Technically, Wren won the match, technically won the battle Royal. She is suspended. So did she really win it? She dressed up as someone else. I’m still letting this all settle in. I need a few days. No decision is going to be made. We got [five] more days until Tuesday, until I am going to speak on this officially. Kali Armstrong, I feel like I owe her something because she was the number two in this. But would she have won this thing if it wasn’t for Wren’s shenanigans? I feel like I owe Kali something in this situation.”
