On this week’s episode of NXT, a few matches were set up and announced to flesh out the card for WWE Battleground.
Naturally, Joe Hendry and Trick Williams had their contract signing to make their TNA World Championship match official. Myles Borne also put his No. 1 contendership on the line against Ethan Page, but since he defeated him, Borne stays Oba Femi’s challenger for the premium live event and the NXT Championship.
One new match already added to the card is that Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo plans to put an end to The Family as he faces Tony D’Angelo after attacking The Don outside Adriana Rizzo’s safehouse and costing him a match against Wes Lee.
Next week’s episode of NXT is also going to feature two matches that will settle the men’s and women’s North American Championship bouts to take place at this event.
Kelani Jordan was upset over how her match with ZARIA went down before, so they’ve decided to hit the reset button and do it again. Just as before, if Jordan beats ZARIA, she’ll get a shot at Sol Ruca’s Women’s North American title.
Ricky Saints is also willing to put his title on the line against the winner of “Super” Sean Legacy vs. Je’Von Evans vs. Ashante “Thee” Adonis, which came about when he overheard those two talking about a challenge Legacy put out there to Evans. Adonis doesn’t think the EVOLVE talent is worth their time, and when Evans stood up for the indies, Adonis said he would beat both of them, which piqued the champ’s interest. Worth noting, Ethan Page attacked Saints at the end of the episode to indicate he’s not done with him, either, so that may factor into this, somehow.
With all that in mind, here is the updated card at the moment for WWE NXT Battleground 2025:
