The Motor City Machine Guns are officially back in AEW.
Thursday’s special edition of AEW Collision from Detroit kicked off with Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin making their return to the promotion, where they announced that they have signed with All Elite Wrestling and are now officially “home.”
The veteran tag team became free agents after being released by WWE in April. With their 90-day non-compete clauses now expired, Shelley and Sabin were free to sign with any promotion, ultimately choosing to return to AEW.
The Motor City Machine Guns previously appeared for AEW at All Out 2022, where they teamed with Jay Lethal in a losing effort against FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood) and Wardlow.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest tag teams of their generation, Shelley and Sabin have built a legendary resume over the past two decades. The duo has captured tag team championships across multiple major promotions, including NJPW, TNA, ROH, and numerous independent organizations, cementing their place among the most accomplished tag teams in professional wrestling history.
