The Internal Reaction To Charlotte Flair & Tiffany Stratton Going Off-Script On WWE SmackDown

This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown featured a heated promo segment between Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair that quickly sparked buzz among fans and WWE talent. The segment stood out due to it going off-script and some personal jabs being thrown out, particularly when Stratton referenced Flair’s history of failed marriages, saying she was “0-3.” The comment visibly stunned Charlotte, especially given her recent divorce from Andrade.

Fightful Select is reporting that the moment caused a stir backstage, with many in the women’s locker room caught off guard by how personal things got. WWE later edited out the controversial remark in digital replays, which was reportedly done due to higher-ups wanting to avoid real-life relationship references.

While there’s no confirmation that either Flair or Stratton went off-script, the promo was attributed to writer Devyn Prieto. Still, multiple sources believe the segment deviated from its original plan. Charlotte Flair is known for calling audibles during promos, and she appeared unhappy afterward, while Stratton was seen as holding her ground well in a tough spot.

Despite the behind-the-scenes tension, many talent backstage feel that WWE should lean into the realness of the moment, noting the strong crowd reaction and the potential to build a compelling storyline.
