The fan who was struck by Tiger Jeet Singh’s saber during a recent wrestling show says he has no hard feelings toward the 82-year-old legend. The 38-year-old office worker was left with a head wound that required medical staples, but he described the incident as an unforgettable experience — and even wished the blade had left a scar.
Speaking with Tokyo Sports after attending Strong Style Pro Wrestling’s October 21 event at Korakuen Hall, the Yokohama resident recalled seeing Singh charge toward him at the October 17 show. He said,
“I thought a god had come flying at me.”
“I don’t remember being stabbed. Suddenly there was a ‘bang,’ and I thought, ‘I’ve been hit, this is awesome.’”
“I used to watch Singh and Abdullah the Butcher on TV. I wanted to see them in person, but I never thought I’d actually be attacked.”
“I wish they had cut a little deeper… I’m actually a little shocked.”
“I hope I can see him again.”
Singh offered a very different account after the incident, blaming the fan for being in his way. He said,
“It was a mistake for him to be in front of me. It’s his fault. You know that, right? All he had to do was get out of my way.”
Singh’s son, Tiger Ali Singh, defended his father, saying that fans had been warned to take care during the entrance. Kudo, the event’s organizer, apologized for what happened.
The fan also received a gesture from Sareee, whom he strongly supports. She sent him a ticket to her December 28 show and an autographed photo as a get-well gift. He said,
“I’m actually kind of happy about it. As long as I’m able to move, I’ll continue to support Sareee.”
