Jade Cargill has been the target of plenty of criticism for in-ring mistakes over the past year, but a recent WWE EVOLVE match may have produced a mishap that tops anything seen from a WWE performer in 2026 so far.

During the latest episode of WWE EVOLVE, Anya Rune squared off against Zena Sterling in singles competition. What should have been a routine aerial attack quickly turned into an awkward moment when Rune climbed to the top turnbuckle and appeared ready to dive onto her opponent. With Sterling nowhere near the ropes and doing nothing to disrupt the setup, Rune suddenly lost her balance, slipping off the top rope and crashing down while also striking her head against the turnbuckle on the way to the mat.

Things only became more uncomfortable moments later.

Rune attempted another top-rope attack, but visibly hesitated after reaching the top turnbuckle. She stepped down to the middle rope, climbed back up again, then appeared to abandon the idea entirely before charging forward with a running Crossbody instead.

The sequence did little to slow down Sterling. Taking advantage of the situation, she spotted an exposed turnbuckle, drove Rune into it, and quickly put her away for the victory.

After the match, Gianna Capri made her way to the ring and immediately targeted Rune with insults. Capri mocked her performance and even suggested she should leave WWE because she did not belong there. Before the confrontation could escalate further, Layla Diggs and Masyn Holiday arrived to separate the two competitors.
