PENTA’s WWE push keeps growing, and the latest update suggests it could end with him holding one of the company’s most valuable prizes.

After his standout performance against Roman Reigns in Mexico City, sources close to WWE creative now see him as a heavy favorite to walk away with the Men’s Money in the Bank briefcase.

WrestleVotes is reporting that this represents a real shift from where things stood back around SummerSlam, when PENTA was not even being considered for the win. However, his recent performance in Mexico City apparently changed that thinking fast.

WWE reportedly saw a massive spike in merchandise sales and online search activity in the days following the match, with several shirt sizes selling out on WWE.com almost immediately. For instance, a limited edition Mattel Creations figure of PENTA, priced around $65 and sold exclusively through Mattel’s own website, reportedly sold out within twenty minutes of going up for preorder.

That momentum carried straight into WWE programming. On the September 21 episode of RAW, PENTA got inserted into the Money in the Bank qualifying match after Solo Sikoa was pulled. The former AEW star went on to beat both Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee to officially punch his ticket into the Men’s Ladder Match.
