Shawn Michaels – ‘Trick Williams Won’t Be Just A Guy On The Main Roster’

Shawn Michaels is excited to see Trick Williams thrive on the main roster and is confident he won’t be just another guy on RAW or SmackDown.

Sitting down with Sports Illustrated, Michaels spoke highly of the former WWE NXT World Champion and his future on the main roster. He said,

“Trick has an incredibly bright future. He’s amazing to work with on a day-to-day basis, he’s so receptive. He’s one of the hottest things in the business as a whole, but he’s still a humble kid working and digging to get better every day. I really respect that.

“I read on social media that he’s already main-roster ready. I don’t think that’s the goal for Trick. He doesn’t want to just go and exist on the main roster–he wants to go there and thrive as a main player. I appreciate his maturity and wisdom. He’s a joy to come work with, and I’m excited to see what he does next.”

Williams joined WWE NXT in 2021 and in addition to his reign as NXT World Champion, he is also a former NXT North American Champion.

Trick had previously been aligned with Carmelo Hayes who was called up to WWE SmackDown during the 2024 WWE Draft.
