Sami Zayn is hoping that the proverbial ‘Forbidden Door’ will allow him the opportunity to wrestle AEW’s Kenny Omega again.

Zayn and Omega competed multiple times on the independent scene prior to Zayn signing with WWE in 2013, with their most recent bout coming in December 2012 for DDT Pro Wrestling.

While speaking on Peter Rosenberg’s Cheap Heat podcast, the Bloodline member spoke about his hopes to wrestle the former AEW World Champion again.

“It’s guys that I’ve worked with before that I just miss and that I would love to work with again now like Kenny Omega just as an example.

“I haven’t seen him in 10 years. That’s insane. The last time I saw him was in December of 2012 and, you know, I miss him and I miss working him. He was super easy to work — he was a lot like me actually, I thought, very detail-oriented.”

Earlier this week, Omega’s long-time friend Kevin Owens said he believes a return to the indies while being a WWE Superstar is more possible now under WWE’s new regime.

Omega returned to AEW TV last month after serving a suspension for his role in the All Out backstage fight.
