Rumor Killer: Thunder Rosa Has Not Requested Release From AEW

AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa has not requested her release from the company despite reports floated around this week.

It was reported by an unverifiable source that Rosa had requested her release following her match with Marina Shafir in June.

The match saw Rosa be accused of ‘sandbagging:’ deliberately working against her opponent to make the match bad.

Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer confirmed that the reports of her requested release are not true.

Brian Cervantes, Rosa’s husband, also denied the reports, telling the source:

“Where do you guys come up with this stupid crap? Get a F”<(%*$ Life!”

Rosa is currently out of action with an injury, and Toni Storm was crowned Interim AEW Women’s World Champion at All Out 2022.
