Roman Reigns spoke with Ariel Helwani to promote WWE WrestleMania 39, where he will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Cody Rhodes.
Although WWE hoped The Rock could’ve returned for a match against Reigns at WrestleMania 39, the company had to change its plans to Rhodes challenging Reigns for the title instead. The Rock reportedly told the company that he didn’t feel he had enough time to get into ring shape.
During the chat, Reigns noted he has no idea how close WWE came to booking him in a match with The Rock because he leaves that up to Paul Heyman to figure out.
“Some of the stuff I don’t necessarily want on my plate, so that’s why I have a special counsel that is so brilliant because we’re able to, you know, sift through the things, filter through the things, that I need to worry about and the things that I don’t need to worry about,” Reigns said.
