On a recent edition of the “Insight” podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam commented on who impresses him when hitting his signature frog splash. He said,
“I think Montez Ford, definitely, and, of course, Eddie. You know me and Eddie’s, that’s the lifelong contendership everyone’s going to compare our Frog Splashes.”
When asked about Logan Paul’s use of the move, RVD admitted that he hadn’t seen it before going into how he first began using the move. He said,
“I watched Tonga Kid do it, Jimmy Snuka, but I did kind of make it my own by turning in the air and being able to go all the way across the ring, I started going for the furthest corner every time for a while, that was my thing.”
RVD also discussed his selling of hitting the move, sharing that the dramatic oversell he gave would depend on who he was delivering the move to.
Van Dam recalled it being a “solid hit” when he landed on Mark Henry or The Big Show, as their size would mean not part of him would hit the mat.
