Ric Flair Is Not Back With WWE

Ric Flair has clarified his current contract status following reports that he had returned to WWE.

Late last week, reports circulated that Flair had claimed that he was “back in” with WWE during an appearance on Booker T’s “Hall of Fame” podcast. During the clip, Flair also stated that he would be attending the Royal Rumble in February, saying, “Me and Hunter hugged. We made up. I’m back in.”

However, it was later revealed that the podcast episode was actually a compilation video. Despite the episode’s description not indicating that it was a compilation, Flair’s comments were taken from a 2023 episode of the show.

Flair has now taken to Twitter to clear up the confusion, confirming that he has not returned to WWE and remains under contract with All Elite Wrestling. He wrote,

“I am seeing all the rumors online about me being back with @WWE. Number one, it is disrespectful. Number two, it is not true. I have always been friends with Hunter. Nothing has changed with our friendship. We both have mutual respect for each other. My daughter @MsCharlotteWWE works for WWE, And I cheer her on in the company. I am unable to work for WWE, because i work for @AEW And @TonyKhan. I am very loyal to him as he allows me the freedom to pursue all of my business ventures and opportunities like @FlairSpirits, all of my signings, @WOOOOOEnergy, and @NASCAR. Tony and I are personal friends, and he grew up watching me. I would never ever disrespect him. Please stop with the online rumors. I am happy where I am in my life.”
