Backstage tension is reportedly brewing within WWE regarding R-Truth’s current status, as a new report claims the company was not pleased with talent wearing his merchandise during the June 2, 2025 episode of Monday Night RAW.
While WWE has permitted similar acts of support in the past — especially when a Superstar was injured or leaving the company — this situation was handled differently.
“We’ve seen it before. Someone gets hurt or is on the way out, and talent might sneak on their gear or wear a shirt,” one source told WrestleVotes, pointing to Dominik Mysterio wearing a Carlito “That’s Not Cool” t-shirt during the same show. The report adds, “But apparently they didn’t want anyone wearing R-Truth shirts on Monday night.”
Despite the alleged directive, Rhea Ripley posted a photo to social media the day after RAW, proudly wearing an R-Truth shirt — seemingly in solidarity following reports of his release.
Though there was no official on-air mention of R-Truth during the broadcast, the live audience voiced strong support, erupting into loud “We Want Truth” chants throughout the night.
As we previously reported here on eWn, the contracts for both R-Truth and Carlito are set to expire in the near future.
