WWE recently announced that starting next week, January 3, SmackDown will officially extend to a three-hour program.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE Monday Night RAW is also expected to return to three hours when it transitions to Netflix on January 6.

From 2014 until this year, RAW operated on a three-hour format before returning to a two-hour format on the USA Network.

WWE previously indicated that with Netflix, they aren’t bound by strict ending times like they are with network or cable television.

Nonetheless, several international TV partners still broadcast RAW, including sports channels accustomed to adjusting time slots quickly.

Other broadcasting partners have already been informed that RAW will revert to three hours next month.

A source described as a “major player” in WWE remarked, “We’re going to three hours on both.”

This change means WWE will provide eight hours of televised content each week.
