Stephanie Vaquer’s return to WWE television may have come as a surprise on the August 3 edition of RAW, but a new backstage report indicates that the former NXT standout had actually been ready to compete well before her comeback aired.
Vaquer made her long-awaited return during this week’s episode of RAW, interrupting a segment featuring Liv Morgan and The Judgment Day that also saw Becky Lynch’s own unexpected return.
According to a report from Pwinsider, Vaquer had been medically cleared well in advance of her return. However, WWE officials reportedly chose to keep her off television until creative found what they believed was the ideal opportunity to reintroduce her. Rather than rushing her back onto programming, the company intentionally delayed her return because they didn’t want to “waste” the moment.
The report also notes that Vaquer was never scheduled to appear at SummerSlam 2026. In fact, her return reportedly wasn’t finalized until the weekend, with WWE putting the final pieces together only shortly before the show.
Finally, it was added that WWE waited until the last possible moment to arrange Vaquer’s travel, minimizing the chance that fans or media would spot her before the broadcast. Once she arrived at the arena, she was kept out of sight backstage until her entrance cue.
