WWE WrestleMania 40 is the first ‘Mania event to go down without Vince McMahon, and a new report reveals that several people in the company are excited about that.

According to a report from Fightful Select, many people in WWE are looking forward to this year’s McMahon-less WrestleMania XL.

While McMahon was absent from the WWE scene in early 2023, he eventually showed up at WrestleMania 39 after returning to the company’s Board of Directors, changing the result of a particular match. That match was not Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes, as Reigns retaining the Undisputed WWE Universal Title had been decided well in advance.

The report states that McMahon has had zero influence on WrestleMania 40, personally or through others.

Several higher-ups in WWE have said they don’t see any incentive to consent to any creative preferences of agenda that McMahon has and believe the disgraced former Chairman is much more concerned about the Janel Grant lawsuit than anything in WWE.

One top Superstar noted that this week has had an “aura of excitement” and while they aren’t ignoring the allegations against McMahon, there is no longer the apprehension of him potentially pushing his way in to “f**k up everyone’s good time.”

McMahon, who is currently under criminal investigation, is not expected to be at WrestleMania 40, and several sources claimed that appearances by the former TKO executive haven’t been particularly desired in the past.

Additionally, several people in WWE who are excited about Monday’s “RAW After WrestleMania” said it’s been a long while since the post-WrestleMania show felt like an “event” and not just any other RAW episode.

McMahon made several changes to last year’s “RAW After WrestleMania 39” that went over poorly with fans and those in WWE.

Several Superstars and agents believe that the original plans for last year’s show were much better than what McMahon altered things to.
