Before that happens, Reigns has another title defense on the horizon. He will put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against PENTA on the September 14 episode of RAW. The show will take place in Mexico City. It marks RAW’s return to the city after 15 years.
PENTA earned his opportunity after winning a special tournament. AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio introduced the competition. Eight wrestlers from WWE and AAA took part. The former IC Champion emerged as the winner and secured his title match against Reigns.
According to a report from Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE currently appears to be considering Oba Femi as Reigns’ WrestleMania 43 opponent. The potential match would give WWE a major clash between two generations. Reigns remains one of the company’s biggest stars. Femi, meanwhile, has quickly established himself as a dangerous force.
The report suggests WWE could be building toward Reigns vs. Femi as the main event. WrestleMania 43 is scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia. However, plans can always change before the event.
