MJF does not appear to be part of AEW Redemption 2026, despite speculation that he could make a surprise return during Sunday’s pay-per-view event in Montreal.
According to a report from Fightful Select, there has been no sign that the former AEW World Champion is scheduled to appear at the event. Instead, the expectation is that AEW is saving his return for the build to All In later this summer. The report states,
“We’ve not heard anything about MJF’s involvement at Redemption as of now. He is expected to be factored into All In.”
The report follows comments made by AEW President Tony Khan during Thursday’s Redemption 2026 media call, where he revealed that MJF has been battling significant injuries after an intense 2026 campaign. Khan credited him for continuing to compete while hurt and made it clear that AEW is looking forward to having him back once he is medically cleared. He said,
“MJF isn’t a nice guy or a good person, but he’s a great wrestler. We love to have him when he’s healthy and fit to compete.”
“I give MJF a lot of credit for fighting through some major injuries this year.”
“I have to keep some sleight of hand in these things. I feel we have made the right moves.”
