As seen at Sunday night’s AEW Revolution 2024 pay-per-view event, Hangman Page was unsuccessful in his attempt to capture the AEW World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match with Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland.
At one point during the bout, Page attacked the referee. The finish of the match came when Page was submitted by Samoa Joe.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the referee attack was done to write Page off television for the time being. It is said that Page’s status for the show had been uncertain due to a “family matter.”
As of this writing, there is no word on how long Page will be off AEW television, but it could be for several months.
