WWE Main Event is moving to Wednesday nights next month, and the scheduling change has raised questions about the future of WWE EVOLVE.
As announced on Thursday, WWE Main Event will move to Rumble beginning October 14, with new episodes premiering Wednesdays at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST.
The new timeslot puts Main Event directly opposite EVOLVE and AEW Dynamite, which currently airs Wednesdays at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST on Tubi. The scheduling conflict has naturally led to speculation about whether EVOLVE could be impacted.
According to a report from Bryan Alvarez, EVOLVE has already taped enough material to carry the show through the beginning of February. He added that a number of WWE ID deals are scheduled to come up next month, adding that there are “a lot of questions about [EVOLVE’s] future.”
There is currently no indication that WWE plans to cancel EVOLVE. The show could potentially move to a different timeslot, while another possibility — albeit one that may seem less likely — is for EVOLVE to remain on Wednesdays and go head-to-head with WWE Main Event. Since both programs are available via streaming platforms, they are less dependent on immediate television viewership or traditional “ratings.”
For now, WWE has not announced any changes to EVOLVE’s schedule or confirmed whether the Main Event move will have any impact on the developmental series.
