WWE held a round of tryouts in Minneapolis last month ahead of SummerSlam 2026, with several notable independent wrestlers among those invited to participate.
The group included Titus Alexander, Josh Bishop, J-Rod, Colton Theron Vaught, Conan Lycan, and Brooke Havok. The talent involved took part in three promo sessions, two in-ring training sessions, and matches, along with a special reception dinner.
According to a new report from Fightful Select, at least some of the wrestlers who participated in the tryouts have since been signed to WWE ID deals. While the identities of everyone involved could not be confirmed, Brooke Havok was the one name Fightful was able to confirm had been discussed internally.
Unfortunately, Havok has recently suffered another serious knee injury. She reportedly tore both her ACL and meniscus and will require surgery. WWE was said to have had significant plans for Havok, though the injury could potentially delay or alter those plans. It remains unclear whether she was able to officially sign her WWE ID deal before suffering the injury.
J-Rod and Josh Bishop have also attracted interest from TNA, with both talents having been spotted in the crowd at recent TNA events.
This is not the first time Havok has dealt with a significant knee injury. She previously suffered an ACL and meniscus injury that required surgery following a match on AEW Dark in 2021. Since returning from that setback, she has primarily competed on the independent wrestling scene.
Havok, who was trained in part by Cody Rhodes, made her professional wrestling debut in 2020. She was also ranked No. 247 on the 2024 Pro Wrestling Illustrated Top 250 Females list.
