Over the past two weeks of WWE RAW, vignettes have aired teasing the return of Big Cass, over eight years after the ex-Superstar was released.

The most recent vignette focused on Cass’ personal struggles with alcohol abuse as well as his initial departure from WWE in May 2018.

During the latest “Wrestling Observer Radio”, Dave Meltzer argued that all signs are pointing to Cass returning to WWE as a babyface. He said,

“We had a clip of the Big Cass return gimmick. They had a bunch of clippings acknowledging his personal issues and getting fired.

“His story is going to be about getting fired, the drinking problems and things like that, and overcoming that. It looks like that’s a babyface story. Overcoming your drinking problems is definitely babyface positioning.

“We’ll see. I mean, he’s got something.”

Cass is set to return during the August 3rd episode of WWE Monday Night RAW, the first episode of the red brand after WWE SummerSlam 2026.

Some fans believe that Cass’ return will also see Enzo Amore return, given reports that WWE intends to bolster its tag team division.
