AEW is reportedly considering unifying two of its secondary men’s titles – the AEW International Championship and the AEW Continental Championship.

Fightful Select is reporting that multiple sources from AEW have indicated that this idea was pitched several months ago and was initially viewed as a solid creative plan.

There is no clarity on who would be involved in the unification or whether the titles would remain separate or be rebranded as one unified championship. The decision to retire the FTW Championship in September of last year was also part of an effort to reduce the number of titles in the company.

It’s currently unclear if current champions Kazuchika Okada (Continental Champion) or Kenny Omega (International Champion) will be involved in the unification process.
