WWE Crown Jewel is just weeks away on November 7, 2026. However, it seems like the company is going ahead with Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, despite the ongoing attacks.

As per the Reuters report, a spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition said on Thursday that the attacks carried out by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels on the airport have resulted in 17 deaths and injuries to 333 people.

King Khalid International Airport may be known to wrestling fans. This was the airport where wrestlers from WWE got stuck for several hours. This was after the WWE Crown Jewel event in 2019.

The reason cited by WWE for this incident was “mechanical issues” with the aircraft. The WWE Crown Jewel in 2026 is set to take place at Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD, Riyadh, on November 7.

Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio recently said,

“They will not even publicly say that there’s a backup plan. There is, but they can’t publicly say it because if they publicly say it. It sounds like they’re wavering on going. And they can’t have that out because then the Saudis and Turki will be very upset at them for having that out. That’s why no one talks about the idea of a backup plan, and they deny it. But to not have a backup plan, you would have to be incompetent, and if there is anything that the people that run WWE are, incompetent is not one of those things.”
